TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, also known as GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), is an arc welding process using a non-consumable tungsten electrode. When it comes to welding aluminium, GTAW offers many advantages over other methods, such as precision and flexibility. However, to achieve optimal results, it is essential to follow a few professional tips. Here are 10 indispensable tips to ensure perfect aluminium TIG welding.

1. Preparation of the material

Before starting to weld, it is essential to thoroughly clean the aluminium from its natural oxidation and any contamination on the surface. Use a wire brush or a dedicated abrasive, taking care not to further contaminate the workpiece with foreign materials.

2. Electrode selection

For good TIG welding on aluminium, choose a tungsten electrode with a green or blue tip. The green tip consists of pure tungsten and is particularly suitable for low currents.

3. Adjusting the welding machine
